Pause mid-line and a faint continuation may appear ahead of the cursor. That is ghost text: a suggestion for what the line could say next, written in the voice of the character speaking and the scene around it.
Accepting it
- → accepts the whole suggestion.
- Ctrl→ accepts the next word only, so you can take a phrase and change the rest.
- Keep typing and it goes away.
Tab does not accept ghost text: in a screenplay editor Tab moves between elements, and that job comes first.
What it reads
The scene you are in, up to the cursor, and the character who is speaking.
Turning it off
Settings → Editor has a Ghost text switch. Turn it off and the editor is silent; turn it back on whenever you want. Each accepted suggestion counts one against the day's allowance — the figure for your plan is on Plans and quotas.
