Your data

Who can read your script, how to export your account data, and where to choose your analytics settings.

1 min readUpdated

Three things writers ask about their data, each with the setting or page that answers it. The privacy policy is the formal version.

Who can read a scriptLink to this section

  • You, and the people you invite with a role — see Invite people.
  • Anyone holding a live share link, to the extent the link allows — see Share links. Revoking the link ends that.

Exporting everythingLink to this section

Settings → Profile → Export my data produces a JSON archive of everything in your account — projects, save points, notes, feedback, chats, and profile. To take a script into another tool, export it as PDF, FDX, or Fountain.

Analytics settingsLink to this section

Open Settings → Accessibility and find Privacy. The two switches control different kinds of measurement:

  • Product analytics controls feature-usage measurement.
  • AI request analytics helps us troubleshoot and improve AI features using request and usage data. We don’t use your writing or AI responses to train AI models.

What next

  • Delete your account

Export what you want to keep, hand over anything shared, then delete the account.

  • Share a script with a link

Create a read-only link to a specific version, decide what readers may do with it, and watch what they read — then revoke it when the draft moves on.

  • Invite people to a project or workspace

Add collaborators with the role that fits — editor, commenter, or viewer — accept an invitation, and manage a Team workspace's members and seats.
