Ask Plot About Your Screenplay
Ask where your screenplay reveals a character’s fear and follow the answer alongside the scene.
In this walkthrough
- Open Ask beside your screenplay.
- Ask a question about the scene.
- Follow the answer back to the lines on the page.
Find where the script already makes its point
The question in this walkthrough is specific: where does the script tell us that Maren is afraid of the water? The answer compares two moments: her hesitation at the gangway and the dialogue that later explains her fear.
Reading those moments together helps you decide how much the dialogue needs to say. If the action already carries the feeling, the next revision can leave more of the meaning between the lines.
Start with a scene question
Ask about a character, a reveal, or a turn in the scene you are reading. A focused question gives you an answer you can compare with the actual words on the page while your screenplay stays beside the conversation.
Use Ask to understand what is there. When you want to see a written revision, switch to Agent Mode and describe the change you want to review.
