Symptom
You know Plot does something — you read it here, or a collaborator showed you — and you cannot find the control for it.
Try the two searches first
- The command palette. Press CtrlK and type the thing: "draft line", "export", "focus", the skill's name, or a how-do-I question. Commands, skills, settings, and help articles are all in the list.
- The help center. The Help menu in the app header, or the search on the help center hub, finds the article and the article links to the control.
Where common things live
| Looking for | Where it is |
|---|---|
| Save points, draft lines, compare, restore | The History tab in the right sidebar |
| Skills and their results | The Skills tab, or Ctrl/ on the page |
| The Dramaturg and Agent Mode | The Chat tab; the mode selector — Auto, Ask, Plan, Agent — is in the bottom row of the message box |
| Sticky notes | The Notes tab |
| Reader comments from a share link | The Feedback tab |
| Every character, with line counts | The Cast tab |
| Takes | The takes section inside the draft-line switcher above the page, for the scene the cursor is in |
| Revision colors, breakdowns, day-out-of-days | The Production menu in the toolbar — Pro and above |
| Import, export, title page | The Import / Export menu in the toolbar |
| Your API key, model choice | Settings → AI & keys |
| Theme, palette, editor size | Settings → Look & feel and Editor |
Why a control may be hidden
- Both sidebars are closed. Ctrl\ and CtrlShift\ bring them back; focus mode hides them on purpose — CtrlShift. leaves it.
- The feature needs a paid plan. Production tools are Pro and above, FDX export is Writer and above, and the control says so where it would appear. Plans and quotas lists what each plan includes.
- You are a viewer or commenter. Editing controls are not shown on a project where your role cannot edit. The project's owner can change your role — see Invite people.
- It is a Canvas feature, and this is a Plot project — or the other way round. Blocks are Canvas; elements are Plot.
Still nowhere
If the feature is described on this site and absent in the app, tell us from the article's footer — the Send feedback action opens the app with the article already attached, and we answer those.
