The page as it prints
The preview is drawn the way Plot prints a title page: the title a third of the way down, the credit and writers beneath it, the draft date and contact at the lower left.
Make a screenplay title page: preview it as it prints, make a title-only copy for blind reads, then copy, download, print or continue in Plot.
Title page builder
Each field is optional except the title. Line breaks are kept, and blank fields are left off the page.
Who will read this copy?
Opens as a new Plot project once you sign in or create a free account. Inkwell keeps this copy for 24 hours.
Preview
Drawn the way Plot prints a title page. Another screenwriting app may space the lines differently.
Before you send it
Add the title
A title page needs a title before it can be copied, downloaded or printed.
Name the writer
A full title page usually names the writer or writing team. Leave it blank only on purpose.
Add a way to reach you
A reader who likes the script needs your email or your representative's. Leave it off only for a copy that must not identify you.
Useful output, not a score
The preview is drawn the way Plot prints a title page: the title a third of the way down, the credit and writers beneath it, the draft date and contact at the lower left.
Switch to an anonymous copy for a contest or fellowship that reads blind. The other details stay in the form for your identified copy.
Copy or download the page as Fountain to put at the top of a script, or print it straight to PDF from the preview.
Type the title, the credit line and the writers, then any source material, a draft date and your contact details.
Keep the full page for an agent, a producer or a manager, or make a title-only copy when a program asks for anonymous submissions.
Copy the Fountain block, download it as a .fountain file, or print the preview to PDF.
The title, centered about a third of the way down; a credit line such as Written by; the writer or writing team; a source line when the script adapts other material; and, at the lower left, a draft date if you use one and your contact details or your representative's.
Only when the program says so. Some competitions and fellowships read blind and ask you to remove your name from the title page, or to leave the title page out. Make a title-only copy for those, keep your identified copy for everyone else, and check the program's current rules before you upload.
Yes. The Fountain block ends with the blank line that closes a title page, so you can paste it at the very top of a Fountain script. Plot reads it as the script's title page when you import the file.
Spec title pages usually leave both off, so the builder has no field for them. Registering a script is a separate step with the US Copyright Office or the WGA registry, and it protects the script whether or not the page mentions it.
Only when you choose Continue in Plot. The preview, the Fountain block, the download and the print happen in your browser. Continue in Plot sends the title page to Inkwell so it opens as a new screenplay after you sign in, and Inkwell keeps that copy for up to 24 hours.
Title page
The first page of a script submission: title, writer name, and contact — not story. It should look calm and professional, not like a poster.
Spec script
A screenplay written on speculation — no deal yet — meant to sell the story or showcase craft. Specs usually skip production numbering and camera direction.
Fountain
An open, plain-text markup for screenplays. Light conventions — scene headings, character cues, dialogue — keep the file readable in any text editor while still carrying structure. In Plot you write normally; Inkwell understands the structure as you type.
Check a feature, pilot, or short against page-count practice, official contest windows, and a published feature corpus — then export a memo you can send with the draft.
Open toolPaste Fountain screenplay text and check scene headings, character cues, dialogue, action, and parse structure locally in your browser.
Open toolConvert FDX, Fountain, or pasted screenplay text to formatted pages and PDF. Read a Final Draft file without Final Draft, then download Fountain or plain text.
Open toolContinue in Plot to start a screenplay with this title page, or download it for a draft you already have.
