From the app, open Settings → AI and find the Bring your own key section.

Open Inkwell settings
Select the provider you already use — Anthropic, OpenAI, or another supported endpoint. Keys stay in your account, not shared across tenants.

Choose your provider
Paste the key and save your AI settings. Inkwell stores it encrypted and never sends your screenplay to a model without an explicit skill run.

Paste and save the API key
Open Plot, launch a Dialogue pass or another skill, and confirm suggestions appear inline. Usage shows on your provider bill, not a mystery credit pool.
Reviewable edits — accept or reject each line
Run a skill to confirm
Switch the provider back to Inkwell (hosted) to revoke, or paste a new key to rotate — without losing your drafts. Skills simply pause until a valid key is present.
