# Ghost text > The faint continuation that appears when you pause: what it reads, how to accept a word or all of it, and how to turn it off. That is ghost text: a suggestion for what the line could say next, written in the voice of the character speaking and the scene around it. ## Accepting it - `Right` accepts the whole suggestion. - `⌘→` / `Ctrl+→` accepts the next word only, so you can take a phrase and change the rest. - Keep typing and it goes away. `Tab` does not accept ghost text: in a screenplay editor Tab moves between elements, and that job comes first. ## What it reads The scene you are in, up to the cursor, and the character who is speaking. ## Turning it off Settings → Editor has a **Ghost text** switch. Turn it off and the editor is silent; turn it back on whenever you want.
