# Plot embed

> A Canvas block that embeds a Plot screenplay scene inside a broader document — so research or notes can point at real script pages.

Also known as embedded scene

## In practice

A Plot embed lets a Canvas document point at a real screenplay scene instead of pasting a stale copy into a wiki. Research binders and team notes can cite living pages, which is how general documents stay useful without becoming a second, rotting script archive nobody updates after notes.

Canvas is early access: embed fidelity is still maturing. Check current behavior before you treat an embed as the only production record of a scene. When in doubt, open the source in Plot and keep a save point on the screenplay side so canon remains recoverable if the embed lags.

Do not house the series bible in Canvas just because embeds exist. The bible belongs in Plot next to episodes and treatments; use embeds when a broader doc needs to reference script truth without replacing Plot as the room's home for canon across the season.

## Common questions

### Should my series bible use Plot embeds as its home?

No. The bible itself belongs in Plot. Use Canvas embeds when a research binder needs to cite a live scene without becoming the bible's home.

### Are Plot embeds fully mature in Canvas?

They are part of Canvas early access and still maturing. Verify fidelity for your workflow before you depend on embeds as the only archive.

### Who can use Plot embeds?

Canvas early access is available on Pro and Team. Confirm your plan, then embed from Canvas while keeping source scenes in Plot.

### What if an embed looks out of date?

Open the source scene in Plot — that is the living script. Embeds are references; fix canon in Plot, then re-check the Canvas doc.
