# Coverage

> A professional reader’s report on a script — logline, synopsis, comments, and a verdict such as Pass / Consider / Recommend. Inkwell’s Script Coverage skill produces a structured self-review in that industry shape.

## In practice

Coverage exists so busy executives can decide whether to read the full script. The familiar shape — logline, synopsis, comments, ratings, verdict — is a decision instrument. Writers can use the same shape as a pre-submission mirror: if your own coverage cannot state the story cleanly, the draft usually is not ready.

Inkwell's Script Coverage skill produces a structured self-review in that industry shape so you can pressure-test clarity, character, and structure on a cold pass. It is analysis-only: it does not rewrite lines, and it is not a studio guarantee that a particular reader or company will agree with the verdict.

Read coverage for diagnosis, not for obedience. A Consider with sharp notes can be more useful than a flattering Recommend that cannot name the engine. Fix the story problems the report exposes, then run again — or send the draft out when the synopsis and comments stop contradicting the pages.

## Common questions

### Is there a coverage worksheet I can fill by hand?

Yes. Download the script coverage template when you want the same report shape as a form — logline, synopsis, evidence, verdict, next action — without running the skill.

### Is Inkwell's Script Coverage the same as studio coverage?

It follows the same report shape — top sheet, synopsis, comments, ratings, verdict — so you can pressure-test the draft. It is still a tool you run, not a promise that a particular studio reader will agree.

### Will Script Coverage rewrite my script?

No. Script Coverage is analysis-only. It does not change lines; it tells you how the story reads on a cold pass so you can decide what to fix.

### What does Pass / Consider / Recommend mean?

They are classic reader verdicts. Pass declines; Consider sees potential with issues; Recommend urges a fuller read or next step. Treat them as signals, not destiny — especially on a self-review run.

### Should I attach AI coverage when I submit?

Usually no. Coverage is for your diagnosis or an assignee's internal process. Submit the script (and requested materials); do not outsource the reader's job with a leftover report.
